Acupuncture is very effective in treating pain. It works on many levels, starting with the nervous system. Acupuncture triggers the brain to release the body's natural pain killers such as endorphins and enkephalins. Once the pain is gone, then the brain signals to increase blood flow and range of motion to the area, thus reducing pain and stiffness. Chinese herbal medicine is complimentarily used to assist in moving the blood and decreasing inflammation.
DNA and YNSA are the Acupuncture styles we predominantly use in our clinic. These styles work by needling distal to the area of pain. They are complimentary and most patients see 70-90% improvement almost instantly.
